Those gritty but powerful vocals, indeed those were the trademark of Koko Taylor who passed away yesterday at the age 80. She was known as "The Queen of the Blues" and throughout her over 40 years of recording music, it was a title that was well earned. My favorite song from her was her first hit,"Wang Dang Doodle".
I bid you a respectful farewell your majesty. May your music continue to shake our bodies and soul in rhythm forever more.
