A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE DISASTERS IN MYANMAR AND CHINA

Many times we tend to be grateful about the simplest things and to pray for the well being of others. Right now there are thousands of people who are suffering in the countries of Myanmar and China as a result of very powerful instances of nature unleashing its fury. In China the death toll is up to 15,000 and many estimate it will reach 20,000 as a result of a massive earthquake that hit the country on Monday. In Myanmar last week, a powerful cyclone hit the country with devastating results. The Official death count is at around 34,000 although there are estimates that list it as high as almost 128, 000. Unfortunately the U.N. has warned that there is likely another cyclone that will hit the country which will result in more death and destruction.

I think we need to take a moment out of our lives and pause for a moment of silence in honor of the victims and to pray for those who are suffering in the disasters' aftermath.

It is the least that we can do.
