IN MEMORY OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Frank Sinatra has always been one of my favorite singers. In my opinion along with Nat "King" Cole, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and Tony Bennett, he is among the elite of singers. Simply among the best. Many would argue the best singer period. You always understood what he was singing which makes me lament that many of the singers today simply don't understand how to truly sing a song and make the listener understand and feel the lyrics that they are singing. Of course the lyrics have to say something as well.

Today marks ten years since his death in 1998 and to mark the occasion, the U.S. Postal Service announced that there will be Sinatra stamps sold next spring. A fitting celebration indeed.

One of my favorite songs from Sinatra is "Put Your Dreams Away" a very inspirational song and one that he always closed his television specials with.

Put Your Dreams Away

Put your dreams away for another day
And I will take their place in your heart
Wishing on a star never got you far
And so it's time to make a new start

When your dreams at night
Fade before you
Then I'll have the right
To adore you

Let your kiss confess this is happiness, darling
And put all your dreams away

[Musical Interlude]

When your dreams at night
Fade before you
Then I'll have the right
To adore you

Let your kiss confess this is happiness, darling
And put all your dreams away
