IN MEMORIAM: HOGAN'S HERO STAR AND PIONEERING BLACK ACTOR IVAN DIXON

I just got word today that the actor Ivan Dixon, best known for his role as Staff Sergeant James Kinchloe on the classic comedy show "Hogan's Heroes" made his transition to the other side this past sunday. His role on that show made him one of the few Black actors at the time to have a strong positive role in a television series. He also was in the classic original "Raisin in the Sun" as Joseph Asagi and the classic 1964 movie "Nothin But a Man".
He later became a director and directed several popular shows including "Magnum P.I." and "In the Heat of the Night". Many film fans will remember him as the director of the Urban classic Movies "The Spook Who Sat By the Front Door" and "Trouble Man."
God bless you Mr. Dixon and thank you for the gifts you have left us that we will continue to enjoy for years to come.

I remember feeling really uplifted by him! And I hadn't even heard. See what happens? Don't compromise - get all obscure. Hopefully, someone in a race for the presidency is flipping that paradigm inside out.
