In the spirit of celebrating the life and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King this holiday weekend, everyone needs to go out and see the movie The Great Debaters. It is an excellent movie and one the whole family should see. It gives a good historical perspective of a period in this country's history in addition to showing how individuals overcame great obstacles and succeed in spite of them.
I heard Denzel Washington promoting the movie on both Steve Harvey and Micheal Baisden's radio shows on Dr. King's birthday. The man was eloquent and classy as always and proudly shared the information that the studio this weekend will open the movie in 500 additional movie screens. That is a monumental achievement for a movie that has been out for three weeks. So in effect the movie is a success and people are going to see it. I myself intend to take my young twin sisters to see it in addition to a beautiful lady this weekend. So in closing, get out and see this classic movie!!
